EPS Coating
Contactscale has a coating solution for EPS. It requires minimal hand work and can be used as a final finish coat.
-This surface can be painted with all types of primers and paints.
-This material is UV safe and can be used for a molding surface.

For parts where the finish isn't that important and conventional design to part method is an over kill.
A seat bucket or speaker box are a good examples for this process. because they are usually covered with some type of material and have limited production runs.
Design the part to be machined from EPS, this foam is very inexpensive. After machining sand the surface down to a 220 surface. The coating process takes 2-4 hours drying time and its ready for molding. We suggest waiting at least 24hrs. Depending on the object your molding expect 1-25+ parts from this type of mold.

We carry 1lb eps buns with sizes up to 40" x48" x96" and custom weight 2lb, 2.5lb, 3lb and lengths up to 24ft. This is a very high quality foam suitable for machining and core material. It's a great choice for larger shapes.
